No, Bloomea is a non-invasive treatment with minimal downtime. Clients may experience some mild redness, itchiness, or sensitivity for 24h after the session, but this should subside quickly with the proper aftercare.

Bloomea sessions can range from 30-90 min depending on the area and how far along in the treatment you are. The sessions increase in time the more sessions you complete, as the skin allows more passes and deeper exfoliation each time. 

You will see results in as little as one session for overall exfoliation and skin glow. For long term and deeper results (scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, pigmentation) most clients will need about 10 sessions. You can ask your therapists what they think the best option is for you.

Avoid actives in skincare products – Retinol, AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, vitamin C and strong exfoliants. These can make your skin more sensitive. Stop using these products at least a week beforehand. 

Avoid waxing or shaving – Hair removal can make your skin extra sensitive, stop at least 3 days prior to service.

Avoid sun exposure & tanning – Sunburned skin is sensitive and can react badly to treatments. Always wear SPF 30 or higher.

Avoid Botox or fillers – If you’re getting injectables, wait at least 2 weeks before your session to prevent complications.

Schedule your Bloomea session at least 3-4 days prior to any event. Mild irritation or reaction is possible, so this leaves enough time for the skin to heal.

Clients often find the procedure to be comfortable and not associated with significant pain or discomfort. Following the treatment, it’s common to experience some side effects, including redness and peeling of the skin. These effects are generally mild and expected as part of the skin’s natural response to the treatment. Clients may also notice an increased sensitivity in the treated area, which typically lasts for about 24 hours after the session. This is a normal part of the recovery process as the skin adjusts to the treatment, and it’s usually manageable with proper post-treatment care, including the use of gentle skincare products and avoiding exposure to harsh environmental factors.

Post care instructions:

• A healing oil will be provided which can be used morning and night until it is completed. You can use gentle, fragrance free skin care for the week following treatment 
• No makeup for 24 hours
• No actives (retinol, AHA, BHA etc) for a week following treatment and if doing multiple treatments, discontinue use for the entirety of the treatment time
• No sun tanning / exposure. Always wear SPF 30 or higher as your skin will be extra sensitive to light. Wait at least one week before direct sun tanning / exposure
• No hot tubs, pools, saunas for 48 hours

We recommend discontinuing strong treatments during the course of your Bloomea sessions, including all facials. An alternative would to combine the Bloomea treatment within your facial, which allows an exfoliation similar to a chemical peel or microdermabrasion using only 2 passes, so it won't be as deep a treatment on its own. That would provide the skin with a brightened, glowy appearance after one session. For deeper wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, ongoing treatments would be recommended for maximum results.
